Job Description: One Job, Three Hats: Receptionist+Sales Person+Administrative Manager

Receptionist/Sales:
Greet visitors to the gallery and provide explanations on the artwork in the exhibit. Basic sales/marketing leading to introducing sincerely interested, potential buyers to senior sales or management.

Administrative Manager:
Reporting to Gallery Manager/Owner but providing over all administrative support to Yuanfen team, including the Artist Liaison, Exhibition Manager, Sales and

IT: Answer incoming phone calls, light filing and record keeping, (highly accurate) keyboarding/data entry to maintain updated client lists and performing a variety of other administrative tasks which may include preparing simple documents, basic translating, very basic bookkeeping, organizing meetings, booking travel arrangements, and some light tidying up.

Qualifications:
Passion for one's work. Fluent in English and Putonghua. Minimum of two years work experience in international, bilingual environment and appropriate demeanor for new media art gallery. Solid office suite/computer skills and willingness to learn other programs. Enjoy both working in a team and also taking the initiative and working on one's own. Knowledge of new media art and Chinese contemporary art a plus.

Art Gallery Exhibition Manager and Artists Liaison

Job Description:
We are seeking an individual to manage/oversee approximately nine art exhibits annually within our space as well as to develop the business nationally and internationally through alliances with other galleries and participation in select art shows. The position also requires developing and managing relationships with participating artists and further developing an artists residency program.

Ideal candidate will be bilingual (English and Putonghua), with a minimum of 5 years gallery management experience including overseeing and participating in exhibition installations, liaising directly with artists and curators, working with gallery team (sales staff, IT/publications manager and administrative staff). Passion for and understanding of new media art an added advantage.

This position reports directly to the gallery owner and will have a direct role in helping to shape the character and future of the gallery.

Events Company Manager/Operator

Job Description:
Develop and operate events company for ideal venue in Beijing’s Dashanzi 798 area. We are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded individual to develop an events business to run simultaneously with a new media art gallery. The venue, located in the heart of Beijing’s contemporary art district, has enormous potential for new product launches, executive seminars, receptions and dinners.

Ideal candidate will be bilingual (English and Putonghua), with a minimum of 5 years managerial experience in either events or events –related business (entertainment, hotel and travel, etc). Need for strong entrepreneurial drive, creativity and passion with ability to develop and implement a full strategy for the business covering marketing/business plan and operations. Individual will be expected to be a hands-on operator and build a team over time.

Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and tied to success/performance in building the business. Potential for ownership interest over time.
